Torque On Demand With All Wheel Drive
The new Sprinter AWD system gives drivers enhanced steering feel, better maneuverability and safety add-ons, all while keeping the ground clearance, approach, departure and breakover angle the same as the previous 4x4 system. The front axle differential is efficient and acoustically brilliant. Torque on-demand allows up to a 50% power split between axles. The electric multi-plate clutch means no more 4x4 switch: Seamless rear wheel drive occurs until torque demands the All Wheel Drive system.
New Engine Variants
With increases in horsepower and torque, plus the transition to an efficient all 4-cylinder engine portfolio, Sprinter delivers the power you need. The 4-cylinder gasoline engine retains its 188 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 4-cylinder diesel engine with Standard output has increased horsepower at 168 hp, and increased torque at 295 lb-ft. The 6-cylinder diesel engine is being replaced by a more powerful High output 4-cylinder diesel featuring 20 more horsepower (208 hp) and 7 more lb-ft of torque (332 lb-ft).
Quicker and Quieter
The new 9G-TRONIC transmission is an upgrade with multiple improvements. Its new and innovative features give Sprinter owners a higher overall gear ratio, increased driving comfort, quicker shifting and quieter noise levels compared to the current 7G-TRONIC transmission.

The digital interior mirror available on cargo, crew and passenger vans, and a pre-installation for cab chassis provides a sharp, high-resolution non-obstructed rear view of the van. The mirror can also be switched between a conventional display and a digital display.
360° of Visibility
One product highlight of note is the addition of 360° Camera pre-wiring for Cab Chassis. It features the same functionality of Cargo, active up to speeds of 6 mph. The configurations are divided in to 3X clusters depending on box dimensions - JB1, JB2, JB3.

1 No system, regardless of how advanced, can overcome the laws of physics or correct careless driving. Please always wear your seat belt. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Best performance in snow is obtained with winter tires.
2 Active Brake Assist may not be sufficient to avoid an accident. It does not react to certain stationary or suddenly moving objects or pedestrians, may not react in certain situations where objects cannot be clearly identified, nor does it recognize or predict the curvature and/or lane layout of the road or every movement of vehicles and pedestrians ahead. It is the driver's responsibility at all times to be attentive to traffic and road conditions, and to provide the steering, braking and other driving inputs necessary to retain control of the vehicle. Drivers are cautioned not to wait for the system's alerts before braking, as that may not afford sufficient time and distance to brake safely. See Operator's Manual for system operating speeds and additional information and warnings.
3 Blind Spot Assist is a warning system only, and may not be sufficient to avoid all accidents involving vehicles in your blind spot and does not estimate the speed of approaching vehicles. It should not be used as a substitute for driver awareness and checking of surrounding traffic conditions. See Operator's Manual for system operating speeds and additional information and warnings.
4 Driving while drowsy or distracted is dangerous and must be avoided. ATTENTION ASSIST may be insufficient to alert a fatigued or distracted driver of lane drift and cannot be relied on to avoid an accident or serious injury.
5 You can only use the Multimedia Functions service in conjunction with the MBUX multimedia system with 7-inch touchscreen and navigation or the satellite radio or with the MBUX multimedia system with 10.25-inch touchscreen. Before use, some of the applications must first be activated via the Connectivity Portal. For various functions (Internet Radio and Browser), additional data volume is necessary which can be purchased via the Internet in the Car service.
